and motor, the moment elevator car moves beyond the limit of
top and bottom terminal floors causing immediate application
of the brake to bring the elevator to halt. - SAFETY IN CASE ROPE BREAKING
In the elevators of ropes, elevator speed exceeds the rated in the
downward direction due to gravitational acceleration. The over speed
governor activates the clutch mechanism there by switching off main controls

capacity and reducing the waiting time at landing.
